Advanced Visual Perception
in Children with Cerebral Palsy

This course will address visual perception
development in different types of children with
cerebral palsy.
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for Bobath trained paediatric occupational therapists, physiotherapists
and speech and language therapists.
Aim:
To provide an in-depth look into the visual problems of children with cerebral palsy
and the effect it has on daily life.
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants should be able to:
• demonstrate
and understanding of development of visual perception in
relation to
children with cerebral palsy.
•
develop goal setting skills relating to realistic short term
and long term treatment plans.
•
use task analysis in relation to children with cerebral
palsy with specific visual perception difficulties.
How will the course be taught?
The course adopts a problem solving approach through video presentation and analysis and practical sessions.
Prior to the course, participants will be asked to submit a
video of 5 minutes in length showing some of the treatment
difficulties experienced with children with perceptual
problems. Further information about the video
presentation will be forwarded once bookings are secured.
