This course provides a theoretical rationale for the use of casting in the management of adults and children with neurological disability and practical application of both upper and lower limb splints using soft and scotch cast materials.
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for physiotherapists or occupational therapists working in adult or paediatric neurology.
Aim:
To provide clinical reasoning for when splinting would be appropriate for this client group and to enable participants to apply upper and lower limb splints confidently in their working practice.
Objectives:
Course participants will be able to:
• Effectively analyse the patient’s clinical problems
• Demonstrate clinical reasoning
• Effectively use the splinting materials
