At the Bobath Centre
Treatment
To further develop and maintain an equitable and high-quality Bobath therapy service for children with Cerebral Palsy ("CP"), regardless of the severity of the condition, so as to improve their activity, participation and health and thereby their quality of life and that of their families.
Training
To disseminate the Bobath Concept as widely as possible, by providing specialist Bobath training programmes, both on-site and externally, for therapists and others working with children with CP.
Research and Development
To undertake and promote research and publish material in support of the effectiveness of the Bobath Concept and its development in the treatment and management of CP and to increase public awareness.
Appropriate support for sister organisations
To maintain the close working relationship with the The Bobath Centre for Adults with Neurological Disability and to provide appropriate support for the independent children’s organisations in Wales and Scotland, in line with the terms detailed in the draft Memorandum of Understanding (Appendix 1), and to seek their close co-operation in support of the Bobath Concept.
Maintaining close links with other Bobath organisations
To maintain good relationships with other Bobath organisations around the world so as to facilitate the development of the Bobath Concept.
Increasing public awareness of the work of the Bobath Centre generally
To promote appropriately the work of the Bobath Centre and the profile of the Bobath Concept among the different stakeholders, including health care professionals.
