As you may be aware, the children’s centre has been marketing the property with a view to both charities relocating (Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Bobath Centre for Adults with Neurological Disability). I can now confirm that the children’s charity has agreed the sale of the building and land in East Finchley and we are actively seeking new premises.
We will not be moving for some time as we can stay here until November 2018, giving us time to find a new home. So it will be business as usual for a considerable period. We will keep you informed of our progress.
This will be our fourth move in 60 years and each time we have updated our facilities for our clients with neurological conditions and their families. The sale will result in a significant boost to the children’s centre’s reserves and provide a healthy base for the future of both charities. We see opportunities to make Bobath therapy more accessible throughout England and Northern Ireland, and bring therapy within the financial reach of more patients. We will be able to replace dated equipment and invest in new technologies.
We will also look at new ways of delivering training so that NHS and other health professionals can more easily access training that will help them provide Bobath treatment in their local communities.
These are exciting times at the Bobath Centre and the staff and trustees are committed to providing an even better service. We will keep you informed of progress.
Thank you for your continued support.
